An "emergency" at Gatwick Airport has seen an easyJet plane grounded after just a few minutes in the air.

The flight from Gatwick to Dubrovnik, Croatia, turned back after just a short while in the air, with emergency services now on the scene according to Flight Radar.

Emergency vehicles were allegedly present at the runway following the flight's unexpected grounding, with the EZY98GQ flight seen to have turned back to the runway just minutes after departure.

Following a brief stop on the runway, the easyJet flight is believed to have been followed by emergency service vehicles.

Flight EZY98GQ is believed to be the only London to Dubrovnik flight of the day, with the flight originally expected to land in Croatia at 11.30, before the emergency diversion.

The Daily Star has contacted easyJet and Gatwick Airport for comment.
