Wongle Estifanos, 6, identified as girl who died on Glenwood Caverns Amusement Park ride

The 6-year-old girl who died Sunday at the Glenwood Cavern’s Adventure Park has been identified as Wongel Estifanos.

Wongel was “a beautiful, caring, and cheerful girl who loves Jesus so much for a 6-year-old girl,” organizers said on a GoFundMe page. “Her life was cut short in this tragic accident.”

The GFM page identifies the Colorado Springs girl’s parents as Estifanos and Rahel. The site, as of about 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, has raised more than $12,000 toward its $50,000 goal to aid her family with funeral, memorial and other expenses.

Her parents, families and the community are “devastated by this tragic and sudden loss. We want all the community to stand with the family during unthinkable loss,” the page said. “We understand nothing will bring her back, but we do not want this to be an additional burden to the parents; hence asking for your help in this matter.”

Wongel was fatally injured on the park’s Haunted Mine Drop ride at about 7:44 p.m. Sunday. She was identified Wednesday afternoon by the Garfield County Coroner’s Office. An investigation into her death is ongoing.
