A young mother was shot dead by her co-worker, who then took his own life, after she turned down his friendship offer, it is claimed.
Yusuf Ugur, 30, killed his 23-year-old colleague Handan Bul, before taking his own life, in the North-West province of Turkey, on Monday.
The incident happened after months of Miss Bul turning down the alleged killer's pleas to be friends, according to local media.
Ugur, who worked at a local factory with the young woman, had made several advances on Miss Bul after hearing of her divorce three years ago, it is claimed.
Miss Bul, who had repeatedly turned down his friendship pleas, had reportedly decided to meet with him one last time to make it clear she did not want to be friends or romantically involved with him.
Ugur had driven to his co-worker’s house, where he picked her up to bring her to a nearby forest in the village.
He then shot her in the car, before taking his own life with the same weapon.
Passer-byes who heard the gunshots called the emergency services, who pronounced the pair dead at the scene.
Ugur had told his co-worker he was “in love” with her, local media reports.
A close friend of the victim’s, Mehtap Keskin, said: “Handan had become very withdrawn after Yusuf told her he was in love with her.

“Yusuf had tried to convince Handan (to be his friend). She then withdrew herself.
“She came to me on Saturday, shivering a crying, and told me ‘Yusuf will kill me’.”
The victim had reportedly withdrawn herself from her perpetrator after fearing she was putting her child in danger's way.
The incident has sparked an outpour of rage in the local community.
The investigation into the deaths of Handan Bul and Yusuf Ugur continues.
