A couple's heated bickering ended in tragedy after a woman allegedly fatally crushed her boyfriend with her car.
Shelly Shears, 51, was taken into custody by police in Casa Grande, Arizona, after they found her partner – 59-year-old Billy Stephens – lying near a roadway at around 8.30am local time (4.30pm BST) last Saturday (May 20).
Officers said Mr Stephens had serious injuries when they found him near West Saguaro Street, and it was determined he had suffered "significant trauma" from the car accident.

He was quickly flown to a hospital in the state capital of Phoenix for treatment, but he later died of his injuries, according to officials.
Speaking of the incident, Casa Grande police issued a statement that read: "The Casa Grande Police Department has arrested 51-year-old local Shelly Shears after an investigation involving a domestic dispute leading to a fatal vehicle/pedestrian collision.
"The victim, Shears’ boyfriend 59-year-old local Billy Stephens, died as a result of the collision."
The official statement continued: "Detectives discovered significant evidence to determine Shears and Stephens were in a verbal argument prior to her striking him with her vehicle."

It wasn't immediately clear what the subject of the verbal altercation that prompted the alleged violence was.
Shears remained at the scene and spoke with officers before being taken into custody.
Authorities later revealed she was booked on second-degree murder charges and jailed at Pinal County Adult Detention Center.
Her case has been sent to the county attorney’s office for review.
