Meteorologist Steven Keates gave the latest Met Office forecast: “Sunday is shaping up to be a lovely day across the vast majority of the UK.

“Probably more sunshine around than what we saw on Saturday.

“If you live in the south, certainly less windy.”

There is expected to be thicker cloud across northern Scotland.

There will be rain further south.

Mr Keates said it would be a similar picture for Northern Ireland but added: “For the bulk of England and Wales, it’s a dry clear start, barely a cloud in the sky.”

There will, however, be patches of clouds towards the southwest.

In areas outside the breeze, it will get to around 11C (51.8F) or 12C (53.6F).

As for the evening: “It will feel quite chilly once again.”

Monday is forecast to be also mostly dry and bright.
