Two drivers died Thursday night in a head on crash in Centennial involving a stolen vehicle out of Littleton.
The crash happened at about 10:15 p.m. on East Dry Creek Road near the intersection of South Adams Street, said Deputy John Bartmann, an Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office spokesman.
The driver of a stolen vehicle was eastbound on Dry Creek when the vehicle clipped the front end of a westbound vehicle, Bartmann said.
The stolen vehicle driver, a man, was speeding and driving recklessly just before the violent crash, Bartmann said. He died at the scene. The other driver, a woman, also died at the scene.
The suspect stole the vehicle at a gas station in Littleton at South Broadway and Dry Creek, Bartmann said.
The sheriff’s office is investigating the fatal crash. Little police are investigating the auto theft. Neither law enforcement agencies were pursuing the stolen vehicle at the time of the crash, Bartmann said.
Both drivers killed in the incident will be identified by the Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office.
