A depraved paedophile raped his young victims and made them watch sexual acts in a twisted campaign of abuse.

Mark Jacobson, from Bootle in Merseyside, was described as a “dangerous individual” by police.

He carried out 16 serious child sex offences and was jailed for 16 years at Liverpool Crown Court on Thursday, May 13.

The sicko was given an indefinite sexual harm prevention order (SHPO) and issued with a restraining order and sex offender notification requirement, the Liverpool Echo reports.

Detective Constable Lucy Emmett said: “Jacobson is a dangerous individual and he will now spend a significant amount of time behind bars where he can no longer pose a risk to children.

“Merseyside Police is committed to protecting children from sexual exploitation and those who seek to do them harm.

“I would urge anyone who has been a victim of child abuse, or thinks a child is being abused, to contact police immediately, where a report can be made in confidence.”

“Similarly if you have suffered a sexual offence and can find the courage to come forward, we will take your report extremely seriously and investigate it thoroughly.”

The offences included two counts of rape, two counts of attempted rape and multiple counts of sexual activity with a child, causing a child to watch a sexual act and engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child.

Anyone with information or who wants to report a sexual offence is asked to call 101, where you will be spoken to by specially trained officers.

Alternatively, you can pass information to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
