A tragic mum-of-three has died at a posh cold water therapy camp frequented by celebrities such as Coleen Rooney and Stephen Graham.
The unnamed woman, 39, was joined by two friends on Monday for a two-hour session at Breatheolution in Buxworth, Derbyshire.
After paying the £200 fee the woman entered the river and, while acclimating to the temperature, collapsed.
Therapist Kevin O'Neill dragged her from the water and attempted CPR before an air ambulance arrived.
She later died in hospital.
Mr O'Neill, who runs Breatheolution, described his devastation following the "freak accident".
He told the Sun: "I am heartbroken. I've not slept and I'm finding it hard to process. I cannot stop thinking about her family. It's tragic.
"I have taken 1,100 people into the water over two years and nothing like this has ever happened. It's a freak incident and very sadly someone has lost their life."
Mr O'Neill explained that guests at the cold water therapy camp are asked about their medical history and any medications they're taking.
All participants are also required to sign a waiver before getting in the water.
He also said that the woman was "laughing" before she collapsed out of the blue.
Speaking about his camp last year he warned: "When you submerge your whole body into cold water it goes through a lot of physiological and chemical changes.
"You can soon get into trouble."
Coleen Rooney who was spotted attending Breatheolution in October with her two brothers.
Posting about the trip online she wrote: "What a way to start the week… Monday morning in freezing cold water."
As well as Stephen Graham, former England and Manchester United footballer Chris Smalling has visited.
Following the horror incident this week a spokesperson for Derbyshire Police said: "Several officers attended. Paramedics took the 39-year-old woman to hospital but she was later pronounced dead.
