Fans of the royal family in the US are turning their backs on Meghan and Harry, an expert has claimed.
Royal commentator Angela Levin said the amount of Americans who spoke of Harry’s “negative behaviour” towards his family is on the rise, the Daily Express reports.
It comes after the Duke of Sussex slammed his upbringing under the Prince of Wales, claiming his father didn’t protect him or his brother Prince William from the pressures of royal life as a kid.
A series of bombshells have been unleashed by the prince following him and his wife Meghan Markle leaving their royal duties.
The royal expert claimed she had heard from a “number of Americans” who disliked Harry’s “lack of manners”.
She said people didn’t want to see him "telling the world intimate details that are hard to believe."
US public opinion on the couple plummeted further following the Duke’s comments on the First Amendment last week.
Speaking to actor Dax Shephard on the Armchair Expert podcast, he said: "I've got so much I want to say about the First Amendment as I sort of understand it, but it is bonkers.
"I don't want to start going down the First Amendment route because that's a huge subject and one which I don't understand because I've only been here a short time.
"But, you can find a loophole in anything.
"You can capitalise or exploit what's not said rather than uphold what is said."
The First Amendment – the right to free speech – is seen by many in America as a staple of life.
Some said Harry’s condemnation of it showed “he has lost the plot” and will “soon not be wanted on either side of the pond.”
American public opinion split with Harry’s bashing of his dad, Prince Charles, such a short time after the death of the Duke of Edinburgh.
Daisy McAndrew, a royal contributor at NBC, said some people “feel he’s gone too far constantly bashing Prince Charles who is, of course, himself mourning the death of his father.”
The outspoken Prince is set to record another podcast on Friday.
