Reality TV surgeon and his model girlfriend accused of drugging and raping women

A TV surgeon and his model girlfriend drugged and raped women together, prosecutors claim.

Grant Robicheaux, 40, appeared in court for a preliminary hearing on Thursday after first facing charges of plying seven women with drugs and raping them, in 2018.

His girlfriend Cerissa Riley, 34, was also charged in connection to allegations made by five of the seven victims.

Robicheaux, who appeared on Bravo TV's Online Dating Rituals of the American Male, insisted the sex was consensual and pleaded not guilty, as did Riley.

But former Orange County District Attorney Tony Rackauckas said in September 2018 that he had video evidence to prove the couple were not only guilty but may have abused as many as 1,000 women in total, MailOnline reports.

After a series of bizarre twists and turns, a woman claiming Robicheaux raped her told Orange County Superior Court Judge Frank Ospino that she wanted to be heard, KCAL reported.

The alleged victim said: "I've begged a judge not to dismiss my case," as she called the case a "complete travesty" at the daylong hearing.

"I told Robicheaux I didn't want to have sex with him," she added.

Judge Ospino took over the case in July after defence lawyers reportedly complained the previous judge, Bromberg, had shown bias.

A hearing in May found that some allegations made towards Robicheaux and Riley could not be proved beyond a reasonable doubt.

State prosecutors pushed for the court to dismiss 10 charges relating to six of the seven alleged victims.

The prosecutor said: "We have no reason to believe that any of these victims are being untruthful, but a review found that some allegations couldn't be proved beyond a reasonable doubt."

Judge Bromberg said before recusing himself from the case that it is "becoming the never-ending story".

He also granted a motion from prosecutors to dismiss charges related to two victims, KCAL reported.
