A gang of revellers were busted for flouting lockdown rules as they partied in a locked-up nightclub.

Police raided Mint Club in Waltham Forest, northeast London, and found a group of pals illegally socialising and drinking.

The group, brazenly ignoring lockdown restrictions, had snuck into the closed venue and hosted a hidden get-together out the back.

Officers found 20 people mingling with tables pushed together and the television on.

The gang were unsurprisingly found in breach of health protection regulations, Essex Live reported.

Every attendee was slapped with a £200 fine, the local council said.

Pictures snapped of the illegal party show the shutters partially up as police enter the club.

Inside, the bar has its shutters down but the glow of lights can be seen out the back.

There, more than a dozen friends were having a gathering, with what appears to be drinks on the tables and a television on in the background.

England is currently under a national lockdown that bans households from mixing in a bid to drive coronavirus infections down.

The UK recorded 15,450 coronavirus cases and 206 deaths yesterday alone.

The new cases bring the total number of Covid-19 related fatalities to a grim 55,230, with last week seeing the highest death toll since May.

Boris Johnson announced yesterday that he would return the nation to the tiered approach once lockdown lapses on December 2.

However, we need to wait till November 26 for the government to announce which areas will go into which tier.
