A gunman shot five people dead after a row with his mother, an inquest heard.
Jake Davison, 22, killed his mother Maxine Davison, 51, at her home in Plymouth before venturing outside and shooting dead four others in a 12-minute rampage on the evening of August 12.
The apprentice crane operator then turned the gun on himself before armed officers reached him.
Detective Steve Hambly, the senior investigating officer, told the hearing all five victims had died from shotgun wounds and the results of histology and toxicology tests were pending.
He said Mrs Davison, a former trawler woman, had died at her home address in Biddick Drive.
Speaking to the court he said: “The circumstances of her death are that Maxine sustained fatal gunshot wounds following an argument with her son."
Tributes have been paid to Maxine, who reportedly tried to get Davison urgent mental health help during lockdown.
A family friend told The Mirror: "The NHS basically said that they are short-staffed and that was it.
"The family even asked the police to come out to see him as he was talking and acting strange… but they didn't do a welfare check."
"This could have been prevented.
"The guy shouldn't have been on the streets with his condition."
A three-year-old toddler was among the youngest victims of the heinous mass shooting.
Victims included the three-year-old girl and a 43-year-old male relative accompanying her, plus a 59-year-old man and a 66-year-old woman.
Two more, a 33-year-old woman and a 53-year-old man, were shot and left with serious injuries.
Prior to the attack, Davison posted a string of creepy videos on YouTube, which has since been removed for violating the site's safety guidelines.
Davison's YouTube videos included deadlifting and confessional vlogs as well as his hopes about one day joining the Army.
In his final upload, Davison complained he was a "fat" and "ugly virgin".
He told his followers: "Most people would have been completely utterly broken if they had lived my f****** life…
"I'm surprised I even made it this far, to be honest.
"I'm not trying to say pity party, or I'm the biggest victim in the world.
"But I know for a fact that if people had lived my f****** life, they wouldn't have lasted."
