A pilot who blamed his plane crash on a sudden beam of light sent by an underwater UFO is now facing prison for lying on a licence renewal application to continue flying.
Noah Felice, from Fayetteville in North Carolina, could be sent to jail for up to five years after a jury took under three hours to find him guilty of putting deliberately misleading information on the official document.
The 71-year-old once claimed that an underwater UFO shot a beam of light at a plane he was flying, leaving him with severe injuries.

He told authorities that it wasn’t his fault the aircraft had crashed as the supposed extra-terrestrial beings had interfered with equipment as he soared over the ocean in 1980.
But the Federal Aviation Administration was having none of it and blamed Felice specifically for the crash, saying he was distracted.
It now looks unlikely that the bloke will fly again after his pilot renewal licence application hid disability payments he was receiving from the Department of Veterans Affairs.
He also lied by saying he had no criminal convictions, when in actual fact he had four misdemeanour charges, according to Assistant U.S. Attorney Richard Southwick.

Serial liar Felice has been untruthful to cops before and was charged in 2009 for lying about past crimes on a pistol permit.
The fibber later became a private investigator before his licence for that was revoked too because of lies he’d said about his past.
He is set to be sentenced on April 19 next year by U.S. District Judge Glenn Suddaby and could be sent behind bars for up to five years.
