An urgent search was launched on Monday after a nine-year-old girl was reported missing on the island of Anglesey, Wales.
Daisy Williams was last seen at 6:30pm in Newborough Forest, and her disappearance prompted a frantic rescue operation in the area — and thankfully she's now been found "safe and well".
She was described as having long brown hair in plaits and is said to be wearing a pink "TikTok" tracksuit and a black coat with a fluffy hood.
A coastguard helicopter was spotted circling the forest where Daisy was reported to have gone missing.
The rescue aircraft was also seen circling Newborough beach and Ynys Llanddwyn in its efforts to locate the young girl.
Fortunately Daisy has now been found safe and well, North Wales Police said just after 8:30pm on Monday evening.
"Great news, missing person Daisy Williams has been found safe and well!" the force said on its official Twitter page.
"Thank you to everyone who assisted with the search, offered to attend and everyones likes and shares on social media."
Police had been urging anyone with information about her whereabouts to call 101, and the news of Daisy's disappearance had caused great distress within the local community.
"Wonderful news!" one Twitter user responded.
"We were edge of seat going to stay up, get torches ready and wait on police permission to help. What a huge relief for the family and relief all round. Sending love and best wishes."
Another said: "Thank goodness for that! Newborough forest can be daunting in daylight, let alone for a 9 year old little girl lost in the dark! Well down everyone!"
One other Twitter user responded: "Thank Goodness….well done everyone."
Anglesey is the largest island in Wales, with an area of 260sqm and a population of about 70,000.
