A rare glimpse into the parenting skills of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle was revealed during the latter's television interview with Ellen DeGeneres.

Previously unseen photos of the two-year-old feeding the family's chickens show Archie wearing stone-washed jeans and a grey long-sleeved top.

He has his back to the camera, but you can see him bonding with the chicken in the garden in the adorable scene.

The youngster is also holding a basket full of animal food in his right hand with his Peppa Pig wellies on his feet.

The footage was shown as part tonight's interview by her close friend, comedian and interviewer Ellen, as part of the final ever series of the long-time American talk show, which aired at 8pm UK time this evening.

During the chat, Meghan said that Harry being a dad is “the most beautiful thing to watch”.

During a chat about her own children's book, The Bench, she revealed that Archie got particularly excited when he spotted the story's canine character – which was based on the family's own.

She said that Archie runs up to the book shouting "Guy!" – the name of their dog.

The book is based on a poem she wrote about observing Harry as a father.

The Duchess of Sussex also said son Archie "loves to dance" and added she will be the one to do the cooking on Thanksgiving.
She said: "I love to cook, we'll be (at) home and just relax and sort of settle in.

"It's our second Thanksgiving home at California, so it will be nice."

She also opened up about the difficulties of having a second child compared to having just one.

She said: "Archie loves being a big brother."

"Someone told H (Harry) and I that when you have one kid it's a hobby, and two children is parenting.

"Suddenly we realised, 'oh right', everyone talks about what it's like for the second child but no-one talks about the adjustment for the first child when the second one comes along.

"I think they have that moment of, 'oh, this is fun, oh, this is how it is now'."

She also said that Harry "loves" the weather and lifestyle in California.

The majority of the interview centered on funny family stories, rather than the controversy which has dogged the couple since they stepped back from royal duties last year.

Earlier today, Lady Colin Campbell told the Daily Star of there being more to Meghan Markle's latest television appearance than a standard interview.

She said that this is all part of a “strategy” for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

Speaking exclusively to the Daily Star's Kurt Robson, she said: “Without a doubt it’s a strategy. Her strategy is to make herself the most reported on royal in the world.
