Man wakes up to find ‘I will kill you’ scrawled on bathroom mirror in toothpaste

A man was left shaken up when he woke up and found a terrifying message scrawled on his bathroom mirror with toothpaste.

Police have launched an investigation after the words "I will kill you" were written on the mirror at the city centre flat in Nottingham.

The man, 23, also found a smiley face drawn in toothpaste on the glass screen of his shower.

Now, police have released images to the public of two men who they wish to speak to in connection with the bizarre incident, which took place earlier this month.

The pair can be seen smiling in the photos as they walk up a flight of stairs, with one of the men – who wore a black top and had a shaved head – carrying cans of beer.

The other man in the images wore glasses and had a moustache. He wore a cap and a dark-coloured jumper which read "Michigan State”.

Ryan Horvath from Nottinghamshire Police has branded the incident "unacceptable" and stressed that the police force are taking it "extremely seriously".

He said: “It is unacceptable that anyone should be threatened in this way.”

“The impact of such threats can be profound and that is why we are taking this report extremely seriously," he added.

According to Nottinghamshire Police, the incident took place at a flat in Lower Parliament Street in the city centre of Nottingham.

It is believed to have happened on 10 October.

PC Horvath said enquiries were ongoing.

He urged anyone who recognises the two men in the image shared to contact police on 101 and quote incident 238 of 10 October.
