An alleged ISIS killer in the US hatched a plan to murder former President George W. Bush and had even staked out his home in Dallas, it has been revealed.

According to an FBI search-warrant application filed March 23 and revealed this week, the operative had planned to smuggle a death squad over the Mexican border to complete the job.

Forbes reports that "the ISIS operative" who was based in Ohio had said they wanted to assassinate Bush as they felt he was responsible for killing many Iraqis and destroying the country after the 2003 invasion.

The FBI have said that the scheme was uncovered with the help of two informants and the surveillance of the alleged operative's social media accounts.

The person responsible for the plot had only been in America since 2020 and had their asylum application pending.

The plot was unearthed after agents investigated and offered the suspect help and expertise in obtaining false immigration and identification documents and people smuggling.

In November 2021, agents learnt of the plot after the suspect asked the ‘confidential source’ how to ‘obtain replica or fraudulent police and/or FBI identifications and badges’ in order to carry out the murder.

The suspect claimed to be part of an elite unit named the ‘Al-Raed’ led by a former pilot of dead despot Saddam Hussein.

In a conversation with the FBI’s secret source, agents were able to learn that the suspect intended to have seven members of the group brought to America to kill the former president.

According to the warrant, no charges have yet been filed against the operative and it is unclear if they have been arrested.
