A special documentary which airs at 9pm follows Ben Fogle as he spend a week living inside the notorious exclusion zone at Chernobyl.

Fogle, a broadcaster and writer from London, has been very successful on TV in recent years.

He can regularly be seen on Ben Fogle: New Lives In The Wild and Springwatch.

Ben also appears on ITV’s UK travel series For the Love of Britain.

According to the publication, he scooped almost £1million from six of the books he had written at the time.

On top of that, he has worked with a number of brands, and his net worth is likely to have grown exponentially since then.

Ben was one of the original reality stars to rise to fame in the BBC show Castaway in 2000, which followed a group of people marooned on a Scottish island for a year.

He became a big hit after the show ended, and has since worked as a presenter for the BBC, ITV, Channel 5, Discovery Channel and National Geographic.

He’s also hosted a number of shows, including Crufts, One Man and His Dog and Countryfile.

What is Ben Fogle’s link to the Royal family?

Fogle is close with the Royal family, and even went on Safari with Prince William and Prince Harry back in 2011.

It was Ben’s passion for wildlife that paved way for a friendship with the Duke of Cambridge.

He and his wife Marina were invited to the evening party following his wedding to Kate Middleton in 2011.

Explaining his connection to the future King, he explained: “I met him many years ago. Marina’s family know William. It’s how I got to know him and I’ve seen how loyal everyone is around him.”

Marina’s sister Olivia Hunt briefly dated William at St Andrew’s University, and despite the relationship not working out, William's friendship with the family continued.

From there Ben also got to know Prince Harry, who he has previously described as “very grounded – which is extraordinary for someone in his position”.

He added: “And he’ll be a modern Dad – he’ll have to do his juggling”.

Fogle was invited to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Royal Wedding back in 2018, but had to decline because he was climbing Mount Everest.

The then-44-year-old, who successfully reached the top of the mountain, told Hello: “Even up Everest I’ll probably hear the cheers of the crowd”.
