A British builder claims he was left in agony after getting bit by bedbugs while on holiday in France.
Cory Gardner, 26, says he was bitten on a two-centre trip to Paris and Lyon. He went away with partner Olivia Wood, 25, for a romantic getaway in September. After his return, all seemed well, until he woke up to a strange feeling all over his body.
Days after arriving back at home in Bridgend, he started itching all over. Cory went to see his GP, who he says ruled that he was suffering with chickenpox. However, Cory did not feel reassured by this reasoning and decided to take matters into his own hands.

He decided to spend £300 on a private consultation on London's Harley Street. After seeking the second opinion, the doctor concluded that Cory was suffering from an allergic reaction to bed bug bites.
Cory took pictures of his injuries, which covered his body in harsh red marks that were incredibly itchy. He believed to have first contracted bed bugs after his return from France.
He explained his injuries, which caused misery in his everyday life. “It was absolutely unbearable. I was itching all over my body. It got worse every day – there were big red marks like a massive rash and it itched all the time.
"And I got flu-like symptoms. Like I was hot and cold with fever. It's very uncomfortable and irritable and I haven't been able to go out. I barely slept for two weeks. That's horrible and made me feel so sick.”

Despite having returned from France over a month ago and attending his London appointment four weeks ago, Cory says he is still struggling with the side affects and injuries. While the rash is there, it is said to be slightly less severe.
His partner Olivia was also said to be bitten, but not as badly as Cory, who felt the full brunt of the attack. Paris was said to have seen a huge surge in bed bugs at the start of October, with social media users posting videos of them crawling over seats on public transport.
Cory says the experience has completely put him off of visiting France. “This has definitely put me off sleeping in other beds and I wouldn’t go to France again."
