Controversial Royal couple Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been praised for appearing to “play by the rules” during the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
The couple were forced to take a backseat to the rest of the family due to them no longer being classed as working Royals.
The only time the Duke and Duchess of Sussex made headlines was when they were unable to attend the Party at the Palace because they chose to celebrate their one-year-old daughter Lilibet's first birthday instead.
And they didn't release photos of the special moment until after the Queen's celebrations had finished, either.
Speaking exclusively to the Daily Star, the founder of the To Di For Daily podcast, Kinsey Schofield said: “It was very respectful and appropriate for Harry and Meghan to wait until after the Jubilee finale to release their photo of Lili.
“It seems like the Sussexes are eager to play by the rules lately.
“The senior members of the royal family currently consider Harry and Meghan a separate entity. “They are allowing the couple to do their own thing.
“I don’t think they will ever rely on the Sussexes to participate in their digital strategies – let alone royal engagements, etc. again.”
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex held their own small do on Saturday (June 4) at Windsor’s Frogmore Cottage to celebrate their daughter's first birthday meaning they missed the Platinum Party at the Palace.
Lilibet's birthday was 'last minute event' but royals 'had concrete Jubilee plans'
It was reported that Lilibet's cousins, Zara Tindall's children Mia, Lena and Lucas, were invited to attend, as well as Peter Phillips and Autumn Kelly’s daughters.
No formal entertainment is understood to have taken place, with kids treated to picnic-style snacks, a birthday cake, fun games and balloons.
However, Kinsey, the author of R is for Revenge Dress published by Post Hill Press and Simon & Schuster – out November 15, 2022 – said: “It is my understanding that the royal family was invited to Lili’s birthday, however, they have had these Jubilee plans in the books for months if not years.
Queen 'banned Harry and Meghan' from photographing moment she first met Lilibet
"Prince William can tell you what he is doing on this day one year from now, his diary is so organised. Harry knows that this is their lifestyle.
"This was a last minute event attended by very few people.
"It was not a snub by either side, the family just had concrete Jubilee plans."
