Gucci blunder as £2,000 tracksuit likened to wardrobe of paedo Jimmy Savile

Gucci is selling a shiny blue tracksuit that could be straight from the wardrobe of paedo telly star Jimmy Savile.

But fans of the fashion label will have to pay through the nose to match the style of the vile Jim’ll Fix It sex predator.

The light blue top costs £1,050 and the matching bottoms another £1,250.

And fashion insiders have been quick to point out that the pricey clobber looks like the tracksuits worn by the disgraced star.

A source told the Daily Star Sunday: “Clearly it’s not been done on purpose.

“But it’s pretty uncanny how much it looks like one of Savile’s outfits. Why would anyone want to look like him?”

The late sex fiend was often dressed in a garish tracksuit, topped off with his trademark gold Rolex, heavy chains and bangles.

The Italian firm said of the polyester top: “Shiny fabrics that challenge the rules find new purpose on familiar silhouettes. Here, this tracksuit-style sweatshirt is constructed with supple shiny technical polyester jersey. The eye-catching light blue material serves as a canvas for emblematic details like the equestrian-inspired Gucci vintage logo.”

Cigar-smoking Savile was one of the UK’s top entertainers in the 1970s and 80s.

He raised millions for charity, but it emerged that he abused more than 1,000 victims over six decades by using his status and influence to escape suspicion.

The evil entertainer died in 2011 aged 84.

But inquiries after his death found that he had used his involvement in organisations such as charities, hospitals, prisons and the BBC to prey on his victims.

In 2014, investigations into Savile’s activities in 28 NHS hospitals, including Leeds General Infirmary, concluded he sexually assaulted staff and patients aged between five and 75.
