French President vows to p**s off unvaccinated people until the end

Things are getting tetchy over in France after President Emmanuel Macron reportedly vowed to 'p**s off' unvaccinated citizens 'as much as possible' until 'the end'.

It comes as he pushes for legislation to be approved this week that will curtail the access unvaccinated people have to bars, restaurants and other leisure pursuits

Speaking to the Le Parisen newspaper, Macron used the word 'emmerder' which is a nice-sounding French word translating to 'p**s off', reports LadBible.

He said: "I really want to p** them off, and we'll carry on doing this – to the end.

"I won't send [them] to prison.

"So we need to tell them, from 15 January, you will no longer be able to go to the restaurant.

"You will no longer be able to go for a coffee, you will no longer be able to go to the theatre. You will no longer be able to go to the cinema.

"When my freedom threatens that of others, I become irresponsible. An irresponsible person is no longer a citizen."

Currently, 73.8% of France's population have been fully vaccinated however there remain 5 million people who haven't come forward for jabs.

Macron's fiery comments were met with a mixed response from other French politicians, including his prospective opposition presidential candidate Valérie Pécresse.

Speaking to CNews, she condemned his comments.

She said: "You have to accept them as they are – lead them, bring them together and not insult them."

Macron, who has been president of France since 2017 has not yet confirmed if he will stand for re-election in this year's vote.
