A woman who lived with Fred and Rose West says she feels lucky to be alive.
Jayne Hamer moved into their "House of Horrors" on Cromwell Street, Gloucester, when she was 17.
The depraved couple abducted, tortured, raped and murdered young women over a period of 20 years – and buried many of them under the floorboards of their home.
During one eerie incident, after she moved in with the family in 1977, Fred insisted on giving Jayne a tour of the cellar.
She said: "Fred was very proud of his cellar. He said, 'I’ve repainted the cellar. Do you want to have a look?'
"He took me down into the cellar, a horrible, dark place."
The cellar was later used as a torture chamber and a place to hide victims’ bodies.
Things became more twisted when Jayne overheard Fred sexually abusing his daughter Heather.
Jayne quizzed their other child Anne Marie about it. She was told: "Fred was breaking his young daughter in 'as all good dads should do'. Get out of here while you can."
