Five foetuses discovered inside home of anti-abortion Catholic Anarchist

Five human foetuses were found in the home of an anti-abortion activist who chillingly told a reporter who asked what cops had discovered: "People will freak out when they hear".

Lauren Handy, 28, made the chilling remark after homicide detectives were seen at her house in Washington DC.

Handy was pictured sitting outside her home as detectives probing the grim discovery could be seen taking items out of the basement in biohazard bags and coolers.

When a reporter at the scene asked Handy – a self-styled "Catholic Anarchist" – what cops had pulled from her basement, she replied: “People will freak out when they hear", and added she expected the raid to happen “sooner or later”.

The US capital's Metropolitan police department said five sets of human fetal remains were recovered from the home of the Progressive Anti-Abortion Uprising leader.

The force said officers made the shocking discovery during a raid on the house after they received a tip about potential bio-hazard material.

Investigators later said the foetuses were now in the hands of the DC Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

A force spokesman said: “On Wednesday, March 30, 2022, at approximately 12.30pm, MPD responded to the 400 block of 6th Street, SE, to investigate a tip regarding potential bio-hazard material at the location.

“Upon further investigation, MPD located five foetuses inside a residence at the location. The foetuses were collected by the DC Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. This is currently a pending investigation.”

The raid came as Handy was indicted on over a protest at an abortion clinic in October 2020.

Court papers show she made an appointment at the clinic for under a false name, claiming to want an abortion.

When she arrived for the appointment, eight other anti-abortion activists “forcefully entered the clinic”, knocking over a clinic employee who suffered an injury to her ankle.

Once inside, the protesters used chains, rope, chairs and their own bodies to block off two entrances to the facility.
