Nancy Pelosi branded ‘nasty’ and ‘smug’ by Eric Trump
Eric, 37, and the rest of his family are preparing to vacate the White House, leaving with it the vast powers they have enjoyed since January 2017. He has shared considerable responsibility along with his eldest siblings, Don Trump Jr, 43, and Ivanka Trump, 39, throughout their father’s time in office. The Trump children have become characterised by their hard-hitting and sometimes outlandish rhetoric.
Ahead of the US Congress vote earlier this month, Eric tweeted: “I will personally work to defeat every single Republican Senator / Congressman who doesn’t stand up against this fraud – they will be primaried in their next election and they will lose.”
He was unsuccessful in what appeared to be a threat to all those who went against President Donald Trump.
And while it is this sort of no-nonsense approach that has helped Eric cement himself in US politics, others have previously said the 37-year-old has for the most part been unable to pursue his own goals and dreams.
In a 2017 City & State New York piece, the publication spoke to Eric in a rare and intimate interview.

After gleaning quirks about his and his family’s life, the magazine also spoke to people he grew up with.
Former classmate Danielle Arnold confessed her “sadness” over Eric’s inability to pursue his dream of becoming a woodworker, a result of being under the Trump Family brand.
She said: “I remember feeling kind of sad that he really can’t pursue his own dreams. There’s no reality in which he would become a woodworker.
“I wonder – because I care about him, obviously – who would he be if he wasn’t in this family?

“Would he choose to be doing what he’s doing?”
Eric told the publication that he loved “building” and that he was “in woodshed any free minute that I had – it’s still my passion in the world”.
He reportedly spent hours in the woodshop carving, shaving, sanding and finishing his projects with “painstaking detail”.
The publication frames Eric’s time at the private fee-paying Hill School as one fraught with isolation and bullying.

Eric, Don Jr and Ivanka have now been called on by many pro-Trump supporters to run for election in 2024.
The trio’s only political experience comes from their time working with their father.
Other close friends and family members of the Trumps have also been tipped to run for various positions in US politics.
Forbes reported that Don Jr and Ivanka are the two most seriously touted to run for Senator positions in Pennsylvania and Florida respectively.
Eric’s wife, Lara, has been considering running to replace outgoing Senator Richard Burr in her home state of North Carolina, according to Politico.
Kim Guilfyole, a partner of President Trump’s, had reportedly been considering a bid for Republican National Committee leadership alongside her husband, though those plans never came to fruition as current Chair Ronna McDaniel won reelection earlier this month.
Eric himself has not been widely discussed as a potential candidate for 2024, although he hinted at running in October 2020.
