Police in Denver are looking for a driver who drove a pickup truck with a dog leashed to the rear of the vehicle, dragging the animal which died from injuries.
The animal cruelty incident happened at about 3 p.m. Monday in the southbound lanes of South Platte River Drive at West Mississippi Avenue. Witnesses got the driver to stop the truck and two men then fled in the vehicle, leaving the dog behind. The dog was taken to a nearby animal hospital and pronounced dead.
The pickup truck, with an extended cab, had a temporary tag in the rear window behind the driver’s seat.
