Deaf dog thinks she is barking after learning from other pooches

A deaf dog has charmed the internet after her owner filmed her silent "barking" which she apparently learned from other canines, without understanding she's supposed to make a noise.

In the cute clip, the white dog looks at her owner who encourages her to bark and "get attention".

The pooch then opens her mouth and makes a barely audible huffing sound, before turning to look back at her owner with a happy expression.

An on-screen caption explains: "She's seen other dogs do this but doesn't know she's supposed to make a noise."

The video was originally uploaded on TikTok by user @@lind_saymyname but went viral on Reddit after being uploaded today, December 22, where many users found the pooch's "barks" endearing.

"Absolutely adorable, I love this so much," enthused a fan.

A fan commented: "I love how she looks at the camera like, 'Did I do it mom?'"

Someone else wrote: "My deaf dog barks. She barks a lot.

"She can't hear much but she seems to have found a pitch and volume she can hear some of. It's really really loud."

Another user gushed: "She is barking and no one will tell the precious baby anything other than that."

Sharing their own cute anecdote, another dog lover wrote: "I used to have a male dog that was always a squatter when he would pee. One time the neighbors brought over their big old chocolate lab.

"My dog saw him lift his leg on a tree, he was so curious!

"A couple of minutes later he walks into the middle of the backyard, lifts his front right leg, and squats to pee all while intently staring at us over his shoulder like, 'Hey is this it!?'"
