Because of unforeseen issues with the construction of the offsite sanitary sewer main for the Parkdale subdivision project, the Coal Creek Trail closure will remain in place.
According to the town of Erie website, work began near the trail on the offsite sanitary sewer main during the week of June 1 and was expected to last through the end of June, weather permitting.
The contractor is now working to reopen the trail by the middle of July.
The trail will be closed from Colo. 7 to the trail connection just southwest of Parkdale Circle, the website said.
Closure signage will be in place and pedestrians and bicyclists are urged to heed the closures and avoid the construction areas for their safety.
