Broken mum of Brit killed in Jamaica says my hearts in pain over sons attack

The mother of a British tourist who was shot multiple times while holidaying at a luxury villa in Jamaica has said "my heart is in pain".

Personal trainer Sean Patterson, 33, from West London, was reportedly gunned down during a stay at the One Love Guest House in Bogue Hill, St James, on Saturday.

Jamaica Constabulary Force told the PA news agency officers from Montego Bay Police had received reports the 33-year-old was standing by the accommodation's on-site pool when witnesses heard “loud explosions”.

Mr Patterson, a British national, was then shot multiple times after a short chase. He was rushed to hospital with gunshot wounds to his upper body and head, but was unable to be revived.

And now, Sean's mum Lesley Wright has shared her grief at her son's passing.

She said: "My son Sean Patterson has been shot dead in Jamaica, my heart's in pain.

"My beautiful son Sean. I don't understand."

His sister Sarah Wright said the family had been left "heartbroken".

She said: "Well that’s one way to start the new year, finding out your baby brother has been murdered in Jamaica.

"To say we are heartbroken is an understatement.

Nicole Lynch, 38, who grew up with Mr Patterson, told the Evening Standard: "His family will be devastated. It’s so sad. My sister Natasha rang to tell me.

"Sean’s mum was a lovely lady, very much a character when we were growing up."

Another pal said: "So much memories. I’ll never forget him.

"May he rest in peace. Sending the family blessings, love, healing, health.

"It’s not gonna be the same without you, SP."

A 34-year-old man from Kingston, Jamaica has been now taken into custody in connection with the incident, according to local media, who additionally reported that he had been deported from the United Kingdom in 2013.
