Brits plead guilty to fighting for Ukraine vs Russia with 1 facing death penalty

One Brit is facing the death penalty after he and another pleaded guilty to fighting for Ukraine against Russia in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) Supreme Court.

Sean Pinner and Aiden Aslin, as well as Moroccan citizen Saadoun Brahim, admitted to violating Article 232 of the Criminal Code of the DPR, referring to "training in order to carry out terrorist activities".

Pinner and Brahim also pleaded guilty to actions aimed at seizing power by force (Article 323 of the Criminal Code of the DPR).

A video published by the DPR Supreme Court shows Aslin giving his plea from behind bars, with Pinner and Brahim sat next to him.

The first violation, which all three detainees pleaded guilty to, is punishable with 15 to 20 years in prison with restriction of freedom for one to two years, or life imprisonment, according to ria.ru.

The second charge facing only Pinner and Brahim could land them behind bars for a further 12 to 20 years with up to two years of restricted freedom.

However, aggregrevated circumstances or a context of wartime can up this sentence to the death penalty with confiscation of property.
