Two men have been arrested after a teenager was allegedly kidnapped and bundled into a car.
The 15-year-old boy told police he was approached by two unknown men who were asking for drugs in Macclesfield, Cheshire at around 10.40pm on Sunday, May 16.
He said he refused and was threatened by the pair before being forced into a nearby car, CheshireLive reports.
The youth managed to escaped uninjured near the Melting Pot cafe and called for help.
Detectives said that two men from Macclesfield, aged 32 and 47, have since been arrested on suspicion of kidnap in connection with the incident.
Both men are currently being held in police custody and are being quizzed by officers.
Detective Inspector Duncan Gouck said: “This kind of incident is extremely rare and I understand the concern that it is likely to cause.
“I would like to reassure residents that we are doing all we can to establish exactly what has taken place and patrols have been stepped up in the local area.
“This appears to be an isolated incident and the two men arrested are assisting officers with their enquiries.
“As part of our investigation we are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and believes that they may have witnessed the incident.

“The same goes for anyone who was driving on Congleton Road, near to the Flower Pot, between 10pm and 10.40pm and has any dashcam footage that may aid our investigation.”
Cheshire Constabulary is urging anyone with information to get in touch.
In a statement, the force said: “Detectives have arrested two men on suspicion of kidnap following an incident in Macclesfield.
“At around 10.40pm on Sunday 16 May a 15-year-old boy stated that he had been approached by two unknown men on Park Lane, Macclesfield who were asking for drugs.
“The boy refused and was subsequently threatened by the pair and forced into a nearby car.
“Thankfully the boy managed to escape uninjured near to the Melting Pot on Congleton Road and called for assistance.”
