After a three day search, authorities were able to recover the body of a missing two-year-old girl from a river downstream from where her father was found alive inside his submerged truck.
Divers recovered the body of Emma Sweet from the White River near Columbus, Indiana Sunday afternoon. The body was discovered around two-and-a-half miles from where her father, Jeremy Sweet, was found on Friday.
Jeremy and his two-year-old daughter were both reported missing on Thanksgiving day.
On Friday morning, duck hunters alerted the police after spotting Sweet’s truck submerged in the east fork of the White River in Bartholomew County.
He was miraculously found alive, however, his daughter was nowhere to be found.
After he was rescued, Jeremy was taken to the hospital to be treated for hypothermia while the authorities continued to search for Emma Sweet.
When searching the truck, the police also found a needle and drug paraphernalia.
Jeremy was reportedly out on bond for "possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon as well as possession of methamphetamine" at the time.

Sheriff Myers said that Jeremy Sweet has changed his story several times regarding what happened, first claiming that Emma wasn't with him when he crashed into the water.
"When we first made contact with him yesterday morning it was that he had dropped Emma off [before crashing] … Right after that he says she was on the hood of the car of his vehicle her coat was wet, so he took the coat off and that’s where she got swept away," Myers said on Saturday.
After combing the area throughout the next few days, authorities finally found Emma's body about two and a half miles downstream from where Sweet's truck was found on Sunday afternoon.
Jeremy Sweet is reportedly in critical condition and has been placed on a 72-hour hold at the hospital while the police investigate the circumstances surrounding Emma's death.
