A body found in woodlands is believed to be that of missing Joshua Jones.
The father-of-one was last seen on December 12 when he told his loved ones he was going to the pharmacy.
He later texted his wife Talia to say “I love you to the moon and back” before switching off his phone.
But police have now confirmed that a member of the public found a body in a secluded part of Clough Woods, Derbyshire, on Sunday afternoon.
A spokesman for Derbyshire Constabulary added that there are “thought to be no suspicious circumstances” and they believed the body found was Joshua, 29.
They are now preparing a file for the coroner.
Last month Talia told the Daily Star in a heartfelt plea that their son, Luke, three, was still asking where his daddy was.
She said: “He calls out for him in his sleep and he will see a binman walk past the house and he will recognise the uniform and you see his little brain thinking that it looks like his dad.
“He still points to pictures and says ‘dad’.”
She added: “I just want Joshua to know I love him to the moon and back too.
“The door is always going to be wide open and our arms will always be open and my heart is going to stay open for him forever.”
A GoFundMe was set up after Joshua’s body was found.
The organiser, Phoebe Smart, wrote: “I want to reach out to everybody that has been following his story to help raise some money for his parents who have continued to get up and go to work through this whole thing.
“Andrew and Fiona deserve to financially take some time from work to finally grieve for their son in peace without the worry of living expenses and to give their boy the send of his deserves.
“Joshua was an incredibly intelligent man who touched the hearts of everyone he met.”
