Archie and Lilibet titles in balance while Sussexes attack palace, says source

Archie and Lilibet, the children of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, are entitled to be called Prince and Princess now their grandfather is King.

However, a royal source has claimed this is unlikely to happen and that Charles will not make a decision until the Duke and Duchess of Sussex “stop lobbing salvos into the palace”.

Earlier this year Harry and Meghan released a tell-all documentary about their experience within the Royal Family.

The documentary, which inferred family disputes and alleged mistreatment, became Netflix’s highest viewed documentary ever, receiving a wave of support and criticism from a divided public.

In response, the royal insider told Daily Mail: "Anything to do with his grandchildren will be decided once they [Harry and Meghan] stop lobbing salvos into the palace.

"No decision or pronouncement can be made on that issue until the King is confident that the decision he makes can withstand any activity on either side in the long term — and they are not in that place right now.

"Monarchs move with great caution and reflection and there is no obligation to rush. The King will, of course, need to make a decision at some point — but the Sussexes' activity is still so changeable that it's just hard to take any firm decisions at this stage."

The decision to not grant titles would not necessarily be a surprise. King Charles has previously voiced his desire to slim down the Royal Family to decrease costs and appeal to the modern public.

Denmark’s Queen Margrethe recently stripped four of her grandchildren of royal titles in a similar move to keep the institution modern.

Meanwhile, Harry and Meghan – who currently reside in the US after stepping back from royal duties – have not publicly expressed a desire for their children to have the title of Prince and Princess.
