An Adams County deputy was hit by a vehicle Thursday night while attempting to stop the driver.
The deputy was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries, the sheriff’s office said.
The incident unfolded when deputies, at 5:45 p.m. were responding to a report of a home invasion at 16315 Great Rock Way, the sheriff’s office said on Twitter.

While en route, deputies spotted a car that matched the description of a car involved in the home invasion. During pursuit of the suspect car, a deputy deploying a stop stick, a tire deflation device, was hit by the vehicle.
Two people in the vehicle were arrested and deputies determined that the car was not involved in the home invasion. Two suspects, both men, in the initial home invasion case, near Brighton, were also arrested.
No injuries were reported at the home invasion.
