U.S. Rep. Doug Lamborn, R-Colorado Springs, tested positive for COVID-19, a spokeswoman said in a news release. He is the second member of Colorado’s congressional delegation to announce that he has contracted the virus this week.
Lamborn is experiencing mild symptoms and will continue to work from his Colorado Springs home, the release said.
U.S. Rep. Ed Perlmutter, D-Arvada, announced Tuesday that he had tested positive for the virus. Both lawmakers join a growing number of representatives and senators who have contracted the virus, which is again surging across the country.
Last month, members of Lamborn’s staff in Washington, D.C., also contracted the virus, staffers told The Denver Post. His office had been among the few in Congress that hadn’t closed due to the pandemic.
