Boris Johnson was interviewed on Sky News about the state of the global coronavirus pandemic and what was in store for Britain amid concerns over new virus mutations entering the country. Mr Johnson issued a warning for people not to become to relax and to stick to public health measures as lockdowns ease as “another wave” of the pandemic cannot be ruled out. However, he did assure Britains that the country’s vaccination programme had built up “robust fortification” against the next surge of the disease.
The Prime Minister told Sky News: “Unfortunately there probably will be another wave of the disease.
“But I think that the vaccination programme has now been soo massive.
“33.6 million people vaccinated, the 44-year-olds now coming forward to be vaccinated.
“I think 95 percent of people over 50 already offered a jab, we have built up what I think are some pretty robust fortifications against the next wave.”
