Mizzy takes Kirsty Wark’s water during Andrew Tate debate
The BBC is facing a backlash over a series of interviews in the last 48 hours.
TikToker Mizzy, who has sparked outrage with his pranks on the video-sharing app, appeared on Newsnight yesterday and used the platform to boast he does not need to do “pranks” anymore because he is “established”.
The Beeb also devoted time on Wednesday to unmasking the anti-Conservative “Secret Tory” parody account on Twitter as a personal trainer.
And the corporation has been criticised over its interview with controversial influencer Andrew Tate.
Conservative MP Simon Clarke said: “This is about as far from the Reithian ethos as it’s possible for the BBC to stray.”

Tory MP Andrea Jenkyns told the Express: “It is becoming increasingly evident that the network’s impartiality has been breached.
“By affording a platform to attention-seeking Tory trolls, such as the Secret Tory Twitter parody account, the BBC inadvertently amplifies their views, casting a shadow on the integrity of their journalistic standards.
“It is crucial for media organisations to uphold impartiality and navigate the fine line between reporting perspectives and unwittingly promoting individuals who seek to manipulate the public.”
Baroness Fox added: “Bad enough having Mizzy on Newsnight, he ran rings, mocking BBC News for inviting him on and accused broadcaster of fuelling Andrew Tate’s fame by doing a long interview with him.
“Mizzy and Tate may ‘do’ notoriety for clicks/fame; What’s the BBC’s excuse? Cringeworthy/humiliating.”
Former Downing Street chief of staff Nick Timothy said: “This guy [Mizzy] respects women so much he approaches them on public transport at night and asks if they ‘want to die’.

“He is a thug and a criminal who terrorises his neighbourhood, so why exactly is the BBC treating him like a sage or spokesman?”
GB News presenter Darren Grimes asked: “How is this public service broadcasting?”
Conservative commentator, Chris Rose, added: “Why is Mizzy on Newsnight? We should not reward or incentivise his illegal, anti-social behaviour. Idiotic decision by the BBC.”
On the BBC’s interview with Mr Tate, barrister and women’s rights campaigner Dr Charlotte Proudman said: “Why the hell is the BBC giving Andrew Tate a platform when he’s on trial for of rape, sex trafficking and exploiting women.
“He called a complainant’s allegations ‘imaginary.’ I can’t imagine how survivors feel watching this. It’s a slap in the face.”
Mizzy appeared in court last month accused of entering a family’s home as part of a prank and posting the footage on TikTok without their consent.
He was placed under a criminal behaviour order and fined over the video, but was back in court within days accused of breaching the order.
He is facing a magistrates’ court trial in July over accusations that he posted two further videos online without the consent of those featured and visited Westfield shopping centre in Stratford in breach of the order.
The BBC has been contacted for comment.
