When you step foot inside The Knickerbocker, the rose-scented, light-filled lobby sets the tone for an oasis retreat — right in the heart of New York City.
Originally built in the early 1900s, the hotel, also known as "The Knick," located on the corner of Broadway and 42nd Street in Times Square, was designed in the Beaux-Arts style with "prices within the reach of all." When its owner John Jacob died on the Titanic in 1912, however, his son Vincent took over and closed the location in 1921. Since the initial closure, the hotel changed ownership several times until eventually landing on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

Over a century since its inception, The Knick has a new owner who has created a new, well-crafted luxury brand.
"We're embracing the hotel's original DNA, while simultaneously offering guests intuitive service and relevant luxury," Jeff David, The Knick's managing director, said in a statement. "The Knickerbocker's history is something that most luxury hotels cannot offer."
Hints of the company's extensive rebranding are felt throughout the entire hotel. From the chic lobby to the stylish rooftop, The Knick is now an edgier, more stylish and modern upgrade from its historic origins.
Included in the new set of renovations are the three premier culinary experiences. Guests and casual visitors alike can enjoy Jakes @ The Knick, an artisanal cafe located lobby level. From there, you can journey a few floors up to try the hotel's signature Honest American Cuisine served at Charlie Palmer @ The Knick or grab a specialty cocktail at St. Cloud rooftop bar.
Once you've enjoyed dinner and drinks, you can then pamper yourself with an in-room massage or makeover by NOMI Beauty, a luxury beauty-tech company. The services range from skincare, hair, make up and massages.
The hotel offers 330 guest rooms (including 33 suites). Price per night starts around $300.
