A top Russian general who was reportedly sacked for standing up for his troops is the latest on the long list of key military figures who have been sacked by Mad Vlad since he invaded Ukraine last February.
Several Russian sources reported that Major General Vladimir Seliverstov, the commander of Russia’s 106th Guards Airborne Division, was recently sacked.
While the reason for his dismissal has not yet been confirmed, many inside Russia’s military speculate that it could be to do with his “reputation for speaking up on behalf of his soldiers”, theInstitute for the Study of War reported.

Seliverstov reportedly had a big role to play in the fall of Bakhmut, a city of around 72,000 that was captured by Russian and Wagner forces last month.
The swots at the think tank claimed that the general’s dismissal may be “part of an ongoing purge of insubordinate commanders” by Russia’s top brass, adding that it could suggest that the “corrosion of the Russian chain of command in Ukraine is accelerating.”
Seliverstov’s firing comes just days after another top commander, General Ivan Popov, was given the sack for bad-mouthing Moscow's Defense Ministry's supply to troops fighting in Ukraine.
He is understood to have told leaders the “main tragedy” is "the lack of counter-battery combat, the absence of artillery reconnaissance stations and the mass deaths and injuries of our brothers from enemy artillery."

Popov also shared a message to soldiers in his former division,the Daily Star reported.
He told them: "Remaining silent and afraid and saying what they wanted to hear, or calling things for what they are. In your name, in the name of all perished comrades-in-arms, I didn't have the right to lie."
"The Ukrainian Army could not break through our ranks at the front but our senior chief hit us from the rear, viciously beheading the army at the most difficult and intense moment."
